Sköll Gear vs that cheap cotton shirt

What makes our apparel so great?

Sköll Gear is SPF or sun protective fabric and it blocks out the ultraviolet rays.  On a high UV day, your chances of getting a sunburn increase.  To protect against sun damage, including skin cancer, Sköll Gear offers UV protection through the dense fibers in the fabric.  With moisture wicking built into all of the apparel, not only will you look cool but you will stay cool in the heat as the fabric will wick away the sweat from your skin.

Fabrics are made of tiny fibers woven or knitted together and under a microscope, we can see lots of spaces between the fibers; UV can pass directly through these holes to reach the skin. The tighter the knit or weave, the smaller the holes and the less UV can get through. Only the best fabric is chosen to make our apparel and our main goal is to block out the sun from your skin to keep you on the water longer.

In contrast, that really cool looking cotton cheap T-shirt that you purchased only provides minimal protection from UV! and 95% of the UV may reach your skin, most of it harmful UVA. Oh... you will sweat more in that cotton shirt as well since there is no way for the moisture to wick away from your body but to penetrate directly into the cotton fabric.

If you want your photos to not include sweaty armpits or chest bands, be protected from the harmful UV rays and stay cool while looking cool, head over to the Sköll Store.
